DAY 66 - December 8th 2014 (By Malene Rasmussen)

DAY 66 - December 8th 2014 (By Malene Rasmussen)

Hi blog!!

So we are back after a needed weekend.
I feel like we have been going on for 2 weeks or more because of the show last weekend.
But whatever, we are busy with dance and we all LOVE that so that’s definitely ok!
This weekend felt like it went on forever though, and I missed my 2YEP family :-)
Now about this lovely Monday, which started out with the girls getting a Spice Girls flip.
I have no clue where it came from but it was fun.

Today we started with a normal warm up with Lin and the awesome warm up programs
(Btw these programs are going to be changed for 2015 so it’s almost the last time we are doing them :-( or for the next 2 weeks but still sad)
After the warm up we had K for about 20 min.
And I can tell you my arms and neck are dying!!!
Popping is crazy hard and difficult for many of us but we have a lot of fun doing it.
Off course this popping warm up session is more a “show off” for out popper Henry but he is also sick so that’s fine.
When Henry starts to freestyle some of us is trying to do the same things but I can tell you it doesn’t look good YET!
I’m sure that we will be great some day at popping. HAHA.

After warm up we had a rehearsal with Lin for the show next week, woop woop.
She taught us the combo crazy fast because many of us already learned it in her weekly classes.
I feel sorry for the people who didn’t learn it before.....or actually I don’t because they caught it quite fast so they are good.
She did groups in the end of class where she on purpose putt the people who hadn’t leaned in one group to push them selves more.
She asked us all to practice at home so it will look super clean and nice tomorrow. Off course everyone will do that :-)

Then BALLET!!!!
Yeeesssss we all missed ballet (and Laura) since we didn’t had it last week.
And this time we had it in another studio.
So exciting!
More space for jumping and better floor for turns.
For the first time in a long time everyone was in this class.
No injuries, which is good.
And best of all, “mama Lin” posted on Facebook that she is so proud of us and that she can se that we all improve in ballet.
Haha no shit Sherlock, if you saw some of us in the beginning you would think it would be hard for us not to improve because of our level. But I’m not talking in general because waow some of us is craaaazy good. (No, not me, don’t worry)

Please note the #proud!!!!

Ballet is over for today and we went back to the studio for class hour. We were all laughing our ass of. I don’t know what happened or I actually I do.
K is the funniest man I no. Every time Lin said something he answered back like everything was about him (you should have been there) but you were not.
What ever all in all it was a hilarious class hour talking about the performing coming up, what will happen next week (our last week before Christmas) and the most important thing of everything THE CHRISTMAS DINNER/PARTYYY!!!!!!
But yeah that part stays private :-)

So this was the Monday. Hope you had fun reading it maybe not as fun as I had writing it.

Thank you

I’m out.

DAY 65 - December 5th 2014 (By Luise Knofe)

DAY 65 - December 5th 2014 (By Luise Knofe)

Hi dear readers,

It’s my turn again to write about one of our Fridays here in the Education.

We started our day with a nice and long warm up with Lin.
I am always happy to have a long warm up.
I feel like my body really needs it to be prepared and ready for the day.
Lin let us feel our arms, butts and abs very intensively this morning :)
I really like to see our boys biting their teeth together when we do some butt-exercises haha.
After our Fitness program we had a nice stretch, and I felt more than ready to start our last two classes with Mr. Sho Tyme.
His Vibe is so impressive and everyone really enjoyed the time with him.
This week I felt as groovy as never before.
The two classes this Friday were really challenging, since we went through a lot of different dances and styles with him and repeated what we learned from him this week.
I can tell you all:
IT WAS FULL OUT!
The first class was an ATL routine, which was really strong and full out.
It was really nice, and I had to push myself through the class.
After the class, we had a well deserved lunch time which was not really interesting so, let’s skip it.
The second class of Sho was about all the different style that we learned during this week.
We went through House Dancing, Hip Hop, ATL…..and we were drenched with sweat…it was fun.

We finished the day with an Q&A with Mr. Tyme and Henry went full out with questions, which I have to say, was interesting!

Shotyme´s knowledge and wisdom as well as his life story was really inspiring and we were all paying attention to every single word.
Well, there’s always a time to say goodbye or better see you soon!
That’s how the Sho Tyme experience ended.

Ready for the Weekend,
Lots of Love

Luise

DAY 64 - December 4th 2015 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

DAY 64 - December 4th 2015 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

Hey Dance World,

It is me again. You wonder why? Me too. But anyway ;)

Today we had another great day with the legendary "Sho-Tyme" if you ever have the chance to take his classes do not miss it!

It is pure dance and so much fun.
Before I forget....you also will loose weight in his class because you are dancing the whole time, like a cardio dance class with total focus on dance of course.

Today he also told us how the industry of dancing works in L. A. and it is not at all like you would expect.

He was very critical in that point.
He said that, as a dancer you totally have to respect the dance as an art form.
If you do not respect what you are doing, why should other respect you as a dancer.
I really liked his "speech" about dancing.

Afterwards we had a special class with Super Dave who also performed at our X-Mas show last Sunday.

The first half of his class was choreography to a remix of "Rihanna's Diamonds", and in the second half we did a lot of freestyle.
Personally I liked more his way of teaching freestyle than his choreography teaching......because in the freestyle class we got different exercises while we were dancing.
For example we should not use our legs, or not the upper body and only the legs.
That was fun.
And of course he is so freaking funny while teaching.

Right after we had lunch,
and we had a little time to rest before we started again with Sho-Tyme. Before the next groove class we did a hardcore sit-up program with him.
After that he introduces us to the south side Hip Hop dance styles.
And we danced the last power out of our bodies.

Today was also the last day of Lin's weekly Thursday classes and we had such a good time to dance to her choreography.

Charlie and Gabriel roasted her pice.

And that was it.

See you next year party people.

Have a great christmas time wherever you live.
And think about dance as an art form.

DAY 63 - December 3rd 2014 (by Gabriel Goux)

Bonjour à tous !
Today it was Sho-Tyme day, a groovy day.
Even if I don't always understand his grooves, it's a real pleasure to just play the music and dance.
It seems maybe cheesy but after all these chorepgraphies, which I really love, it's so good to dance and groove with everyone.
I was happy to find this happiness in these simple grooves, if that makes sense.
I aready thank him for the rest of the week which is coming really soon, if everything happens normally.
Now, I want to dedicate this blog to our XMAS CHARITY SHOW.
I thank every single dancer who was there and I thank the cool audience that we had.
But I thank especially my family, the 2YEP'ers.
They made me feel this thing that I am so addicted.
These goosebumps that my friends gave me.
No words, just a lot of feelings.
THANK YOU MY FAM !
I have to leave you with these words.
Next time I will try to be less emotionnal.

See you my dear readers !

DAY 62 - December 2nd 2015 (By Antoine Cedric aka Aceko)

DAY 62 - December 2nd 2015 (By Antoine Cedric aka Aceko)

Hellooo my friends around the world, its me again.
Haha your favorite 2Yep´er ^^ (no just kidding)

So it's been a long time ago now right??

Haha I think it´s 2 days, since I talked to you.

But anyway I´m happy to share my journey with you again.

So today we start with Tuesday because Monday we had day of.
I ´m sure you know why...exactly because of the X-Mas Charity show.

First we had a class hour and talked about the whole event.

We talked about the performance and the organizing.
Lin was very happy, we made a very good event.
She was happy about the solos and group performance :))) we were happy too.
So after that we had another surprise, guess what??
Jeka Jane visited Lin, and they decided that she will teach us, haha isn't that crazzyyy??

I love my Mother Lin Samuelsen, she is amazing..
So we had the first class with Jeka.
It was nice and she taught "Rather be" by "Clean bandits"

The the next teacher was the one and only and amazing Sho-Tyme.

This man worked with the biggest artist in the world.
Classes with him are fun and intensive.
It's like cardio HipHop hahahha yes really no time to chill.
Dancing dancing dancing and again dancing.
He taught us Basics and Grooves.
From New York HipHop to ATL style and it was amazing.
His knowledge is just wow.
Trust me if you want to take HipHop classes he is the right person.

After his 2 classes everyone was tired like tired tired!!!
Everyone went straight home to relax and recover from this intensive day.

Some of the 2Yep´ers went to Copenhagen to take classes there. But I went home to eat and sleep hahah.
So this was my journey.

I hope you had a great day too.
So wish you a nice week.
Peace and love

X-MAS SHOW DAY - November 30th 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

X-MAS SHOW DAY - November 30th 2014  (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

Hello World,

As you might know we had our X-Mas Show today and it was so awesome.

We started this intense day at 11:45 a.m. in the studio.
We packed all our stuff for the shows and the stage together.
Unfortunately the elevator was broken, so we had to carry all the things from the 5th floor to the basement so many times.
Definitely the wrong day, to be broken mr. Elevator.

The whole event took place in a Sports Hall right across the street, so we were very fast with bringing all the important things to the venue.

Before we started building the stage we had a run through in the studio which was so funny because everybody tried to dance each others solos.
Omg it was so much fun.

At 2pm we were allowed to get into the venue, so we did not waste time and started to build the stage.

Because we were all so motivated time passed so fast.
After only two hours of easy working together, everything was set up.
Teamwork let the dream work as you know ;)

Around 4pm we started to make formations for the "Last Christmas choreography" in the studio with Lin.

Because Zhian is the funniest dude of our group, he had the honor to stay in the center of the choreo and sing playback.
So funny this boy.
I like his kind of humor.

Exactly at half past five we had the dress rehearsal on stage.

Almost everything went good, and we had the chance to see the other groups who also performed with us.
It is such an amazing thing that dance connects so many different people together.
There were groups from Malmö, Lund, Copenhagen and one special guest from Los Angeles - Mr. Super Dave gave a little freestyle show.
So dope this guy.

At 7 o'clock the doors were open for the audience, and so many people came out to see us.

That was such a good feeling to see all these people who support their family and friends.
Shortly after 7:30, Karsten started the show with his moderation.

He said again that this is a free show for all of the audience but The Hip Drop will be thankful for any donations that would be supporting good cause.
And then the show started with a little Locking piece choreographed by Karsten.

Afterwards there were solos of all of us and in between a lot of other groups performed.

Everyone did an amazing job.

I hope you (dear reader) will see it on youtube.
I can not describe everything of the show because I was also part of it, and I was not able to see everything, but I will point out some highlights for you guys.

Definitely the first highlight was when everyone of the 2YEP Crew entered the stage after Cedric's very emotional solo, to comfort him.

That was a moment, which showed that we are a strong team and we help each other, whatever happens.

My next highlight was the performance of our group, when we did Tony Tzars show.

I think it is the best show we did so far.
It was so much fun to dance his sick choreographies and an honor for all of us that he stayed just a week longer with us, than originally planned.
This man is a true idol when it comes to dance, humanity and personality.
Thank you Tony if you ever read these lines here.

And the last moment that blowed our minds was, of course, Tony by himself performing a dope solo for us.

This guy can do almost everything.

After that we all performed "Last Christmas" on stage, and every dancer joined our massive step touch choreography.

When the music stopped playing and the lights turned on, we cleaned up the stage and packed everything.
Also here we were working very effective as a team, so we were very fast with getting everything ready.

This was another awesome day at The One Year International Education program.

Dance world out there save your money and apply for this amazing program.
I promise you it will give you so much.

See you soon

X-MAS SHOW DAY - November 30th (By Oliver Rönholt)

X-MAS SHOW DAY -  November 30th  (By Oliver Rönholt)

So after a couple of weeks with hard work today was finally showtime!
Everyone was super excited to get on stage perform.
But first, we had to create the stage.
We met at the studio at 11:45 and started packing all our stuff that we needed for the show, including couches, benches, and some chairs.
After spending an hour or something moving everything, we had a little rehearsal in the studio. Everything went well and we were ready for the show.
We went to the venue and began on the stage decoration, we had to create the stage from 0-100, with lights and sound, and it was a hard work but of course all the guys did a great job, while the girls was putting their make up on ahahaha.

Everything was ready and now we just needed a quick run trough.
And it went pretty well everyone seemed ready, we just needed the audience!

There was a BIIIIG line outside the venue, and it felt so great that so many people would come and share this amazing day with us, and support.

At 7PM the doors opened and 10 minutes later the venue was filled with people.
And at 7:30PM it was finally showtime!

We started out with our locking piece made by the one and only Karsten, also known as K.

After that there was a few groups and then it was time for solos!
Mr. Zhian started out, and killed it. I
was after him, and I was sooo ready.
And I think I did a good job haha.

There were a lot of crews performing, and everyone was so dope.
But a quick shout out the Mizz Understood Crew from Denmark for creating a amazing show (These guys are SO f***ing talented!)

We were about to go on stage with our Jhene Aiko piece which we, the 2Yep family has created.
We were nervous, but ready to deliver a good show, and we did!

Last but not least, we were so lucky that Mr. Tony Tzar choreographed a piece for us.
The last show of the night, and that was something special.
Tony has made everyone grow, not just as dancers, but as human beings.
That guy is so amazing.
Before we went on stage, we had a quick peptalk behind stage.
And that made people give it an extra 1000%.
Of course for the audience, and ourselve.
But also for Tony who putted this together in no time, and of course for Lin and K for believeing in us.

It went so good and everyone felt good after the performance.

After a long long day, it was now over.
A good day, with my 2Yep family, but I was also so lucky that I got my mom, dad and girlfriend watching.
They are always supporting me, and I’m so thankfull for that.

Last task for the night was to get everything back to the studio, and clean up the stage.
We were so tired, but very quick.
I think everyone really wanted to go home ahahahah.

Thank you for reading guys!

Big love.

Oliver
