DAY 149 - May 1st 2014 (By Marilena Maouni)
Hello blog readers!
Our day started at Debbie Reynolds with Jian. It's the second time I took class from him and I really enjoyed it!
My personal goal for the class was to dance as big as possible and "perform".
But we had an assignment as a group as well:
To NOT dance next to each other, spread out as much as possible during class, when they split us in groups at the end to be in the front and perform the choreography.
We are so used to each other so it was a good switch up to be around other people, even though this challenge was a bit hard to do since the studio was quite small.
Today was the first day we had assignments, more to come in the next days. Some of them will require us to be
a little bit...let's say ..."rude"
For example not to switch lines when teachers are requiring it!
So please don't judge us too harsh if you bump into us in class and we act like... rude people
Next class it was our own choice and mine was Amanda Grind.
Fffff that girl knows how to grind and groove! It was my first time taking her class and I just LOVED her. Groove and musicality...she's one of the best!
OH did I mention that Pat Cruz,Jeka Jane and a lot great top dancers were taking the class right next to me?? Nope, not intimidated at all
*Crying inside*
Last but definitely not least, my favorite teacher so far...Cj Salvador.
I just love everything about him!!!!!!!
His choreography is amazing his movement is BEYOND, he's a good teacher and his classes have such a nice vibe!
He kinda "tricked" us though into Latin/ballroom dancing which wasn't a problem at all (I'm definitely taking the same class next week!) but it was just not what we expected.
I turned to Elina and I whispered " In my head I imagine I am a ballroom dancer" ,
"Omg , me too!!!"
It was so much fun to try something different
Enjoy your day!
Marilena
