DAY 185 - June 10th 2014 (By Denice M Solberg)
Hey blog, hey sweden, hey Matrix!
We are now in our last month of the education.
Our show is in less than three weeks and so far we almost have nothing to show.
That means WORK is about get serious, we are all sure that we will make it work!
We did a pretty good job with the manuscript already, so the storyline is there.
Now we just have to fill the moves in.
It's gonna be stressful, but I'm sure it's going to be fun!
We are having a lot of The Hip Drop evening school students in our show, so these next weeks we are going to get to hang out a lot with them, which I'm looking forward to!
They are all super sweet!
So if any next years Yep'er is reading this,
I'm telling you, be smart and get to know the students early so that you have the whole year to meet up, party and stuff...
To tell you a little about what we did today.
We had Michel Sian from Copenhagen teaching us a piece for the Matrix and a regular class.
It was pretty intense, but very good!
He is pushing us to our limits!
He is always doing that!
I don't know if his intention is to make us better dancers or just to kill us!
There's a lot to learn from him, he is super humble, sweet and a very good dancer.
The piece we are doing is hardcore, but we will manage to do it well at the show I hope.
COME TO OUR SHOW THE 27TH OF JUNE AT NOJESTEATER I MALMÖ!

DAY 184 – June 9th 2014 (By Anton Swerkström)
So after 6 amazing weeks on the other side of the world we are now back in Sweden again.
L.A. was freakin awesome and I´m so happy with the whole experience.
Training with GRV, performing with Tony Tzar, lots of sightseeing and shopping, chilling by the pool and close to 100 classes.
Although it was a little sad to leave it actually feels pretty good to be back, except for the jet lag.
I thought jet lag was a lame excuse for weak people who couldnt deal with irregular sleeping hours while traveling.
Suits me right then I guess that Im pretty messed up now.
But no time for that!
We now have three weeks left of this education and in that time we are going to put together a show.
Some things were started before we left and we also worked a little while in LA but most of the heavy lifting is still ahead of us.
We have been prepared for this though, so now there is nothing left to but to lift all them heavy things.
First weeks schedule is pretty intense with lots of deadlines, but I feel like the coming weeks wont really be chill though.
But this show will be awesome!
We have a whole year of training to showcase including the 6 weeks in L.A.
If you are in Malmö or anywhere close or actually wherever you are you should get a ticket.
If you are one of the people who have been following us throughout this year arent you a little curious what we have to show for it?

DAY 183 - June 4th 2014 (By Elina Ayako)
Last day in LA.
Wow.
Doesn't feel good to write these four words down!
The last 6 weeks went by way too fast - but I guess all good things come to an end.
It was an early start into the day because the whole group was not quite done packing yet & most of us were struggling with fitting all of our stuff into the suitcase (sidenote: the most extreme shoppers amongst us even had to buy an extra suitcase!)
At 11 the ML staff came by to make sure everything's alright & then we were free to stroll around Noho for one last time.
We went to one of my absolute favorite café's in LA:
Republic of pie.
Everyone grabbed a drink & we sat outside to enjoy the sun & the good company.
The conversations of course all revolved around the time we had in L.A. our first days upon arrival, the first time stepping into ML & all the other studios, the laughters we had fooling around in the pool, the rough times when LA got a little too much.
So many memories have been created here, this trip was one heck of a rollercoaster!
There were so many things for us to talk about that we didn't quite notice how the time passed - our shuttle to the airport was already about to pick us up. We grabbed our luggage, said goodbye to the house & got into the shuttle to eventually take off with the plane.
Those last 6 weeks have been such a pleasure.
L.A. you will be missed.
See you very soon!

DAY 182 - June 3rd 2014 (By Mantas Rimeikis)
Hi blog !
Exciting things happened today!
This morning Amanda Grind stopped by the house to rehearse, before the video shoot later today.
Yeah we got to film a dance video choreographed by Amanda Grind on our last day in L.A.
I think the experience was challenging because we only had couple of hours to learn & rehearse the choreography , but we stayed focused and determined and pulled it off .
Amanda was one of the most influential teachers out here so I am very happy that we got to work with her.
So after the run-through at the house we got some time to chill by the pool and get our outfits ready for the shoot!
The documentary team (they were the ones shooting the video) organized transport from the house to Santa Monica beach and met us at the location where we spent couple of hours shooting it !
I can't wait for you to finally see the product !

DAY 181 - June 2nd 2014 (By Elin Karabuda)
After some fun by the pool I took Gigi Torres class.
It was my first time taking her class.
I've only heard good things about her, mainly about her teaching.
It all made sense with today's class.
Her warm up consisted of breathing exercises to movements that would help the dynamics.
Also she gave a lot of good tips for dance and for life in general.
Then I took Tony Tzars class. He retaught an amazing piece. We've learned it last week and it was one of my favorite classes. The choreo started with hiphop and went in to an African style. As always, Tony gave us useful words of wisdom. He has truly changed my way of seeing dance. Instead of thinking moves, he thinks of ways to express and tell a story through the body. That way, the piece won't follow a trend and therefore will be timeless. That's exactly what you see when you look at his pieces. It makes it super unique, different and always interesting.

DAY 180 - June 1st 2014 (By Marilena Maouni)
DAY 180 - June 1st 2014 (By Marilena Maouni)
My last Sunday here in LA
I had to take advantage of it !
Soooo I took a Waacking class from Lady Cultura at Debbie Reynolds.
Since the Matrix show is coming up pretty soon and I have my" Waacking Ladies" waiting for me back in Sweden, I wanted to step my game up .
She went through some basics and then we focused on performing and freestyling.
It was a good last Waacking class that gave me a lot of inspiration!
I feel ready to choreograph :-)
Then I took Miguel Antonio, if you are not familiar with him, he's teaching Jazz Funk.
He's really sharp, extending a lot and he always has tricky musicality.
I just LOVED this particular class , the song we were dancing to was called "Burn"
As I was trying to really pay attention to the song I heard the lyrics: "we got that fire and we gotta let it burn..."
And my future flashed right in front of my eyes.
A future without all these amazing classes, with me fighting to keep my fire for dance alive.
Trying to keep training this hard when I am back home on my own.
I got so sad and a few tears came down on my face.
Anton was there and as always he was so sweet to comfort me.
And because it was the last class of the day Miguel went WAY over time (I think class was 2 hours and maybe more when it was supposed to be 1!!!!!)
That really shows how passionate he is to teach, and his love for dancing and sharing.
It was an amazing class!
If you have the chance to take his class I highly recommend you take it!
This is my last blog about LA and I just wanna say that it was an amazing experience.
I had so much fun and learned so much.
I grew so much as a dancer and as a person.
I trained with GRV.
I performed with freaking Tony Tzar's BlackLightSociety.
I got a private class with Jian.
I am doing a video with Amanda Grind
I met so many talented people!!!
This was a dream come true <3
I'm going to miss it so much but I promised myself that I coming back someday....
Ok too much sadness, sorry for bring you down guys! :P
Much love <3

DAY 179 - May 31st 2014 (By Kallum Khaos)
Ask me how many classes I took today blog..go on, ask me!
"How many classes did you take today Kallum?"
I'm glad you asked blog!
Zero, no classes for me today, but I had a freakin' great day anyway.
Last night I re-worked a short piece I choreographed earlier in the year, then this morning I woke up early (not that early...like 9:30am...not early at all) to teach it to the homies Cecilia, Mantas, Anton and Elin.
It was great, we laughed, we danced, we piece together a nice little set.
After working up a sweat we cooled down by jumping in the pool.
Fun fact: I can't dive...I've literally never tried, so Mantas and Anton tried to teach me to dive...Yeah, it didn't go so well haha, but it lead to some pretty sweet pool jumping based games which left me pretty exhausted.
Then it was time for some documentary stuff, we did a few pick up shots and then got the others and headed off to film what we rehearsed earlier, I was realllyyy pleased with how it looked, even though they learnt it today they did a great job!
After chilling with the rest of the group and being interviewed I watched some stand up comedy.
Last Saturday in LA...bittersweet you are, bittersweet.
Catch you soon blog.
