DAY 180 - June 1st 2014 (By Marilena Maouni)


My last Sunday here in LA 
I had to take advantage of it !
Soooo I took a Waacking class from Lady Cultura at Debbie Reynolds.
Since the Matrix show is coming up pretty soon and I have my" Waacking Ladies" waiting for me back in Sweden, I wanted to step my game up .
She went through some basics and then we focused on performing and freestyling.
It was a good last Waacking class that gave me a lot of inspiration!
I feel ready to choreograph :-) 

Then I took Miguel Antonio, if you are not familiar with him, he's teaching Jazz Funk. 
He's really sharp, extending a lot and he always has tricky musicality. 
I just LOVED this particular class , the song we were dancing to was called "Burn"
As I was trying to really pay attention to the song I heard the lyrics: "we got that fire and we gotta let it burn..."
And my future flashed right in front of my eyes.
A future without all these amazing classes, with me fighting to keep my fire for dance alive.
Trying to keep training this hard when I am back home on my own.
I got so sad and a few tears came down on my face.
Anton was there and as always he was so sweet to comfort me. 

And because it was the last class of the day Miguel went WAY over time (I think class was 2 hours and maybe more when it was supposed to be 1!!!!!)
That really shows how passionate he is to teach, and his love for dancing and sharing.
It was an amazing class! 
If you have the chance to take his class I highly recommend you take it!

This is my last blog about LA and I just wanna say that it was an amazing experience.
I had so much fun and learned so much.

I grew so much as a dancer and as a person. 
I trained with GRV.
I performed with freaking Tony Tzar's BlackLightSociety.
I got a private class with Jian.
I am doing a video with Amanda Grind
I met so many talented people!!! 

This was a dream come true  <3
I'm going to miss it so much but I promised myself that I coming back someday.... 

Ok too much sadness, sorry for bring you down guys! :P
