DAY 29 - October 8th 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)
DAY 29 - October 8th 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)
Today was a beautiful day - fortunately.
Because we started with "easy" jogging in one of the nice parks of Malmö.
And yesterdays weather was so bad.
So we were all lucky to run in the sun.
Right before we left to the studio, we repeated the choreographies and the names of all the Old- Middel and New School moves which Huyen taught us the last two days, because we were all scared to sit on the wall again. Asian drill style. I love it! ;)
After that, we went back to the studio and had another awesome class with Huyen. She taught us a really nice choreography to the song "Wiggle" by Jason Derulo feat. Snoop Dogg. Although we all have heard this song a little bit too much in the worldwide charts, Huyen´s choreography was more than dope to it.
And she taught so fast. At the end of her class we could dance the whole song!
When we danced in groups she gave us really nice assignments to increase our movement.
After Lunch we started again with her.
In this class we didn't learned choreography but a lot of freestyle.
First there was no real assignment.
And than she added more and more.
Her way of good freestyle dance should include the terms: "side to side, up and down, travel, turn and stop"
I totally agree with her.
And maybe some of you guys who reads this agree too or don´t know it yet.
After she gave us her "rules" she added situations in which we should try to be in.
First we should imagine that a huge storm is blowing us away, in our freestyle off course, and a massive earthquake shake us to the ground, and then aliens attack us and we must fight against them. These were the first three or four rounds and then there were: claustrophobia, ants attack, jungle and trapped in foil.
It was so helpful to imagine a situation and dance in it.
You create moves that you never think about that you can do.
It helped me a lot and I guess I was not the only one.
The last minutes of this class was freestyle in a circle which was very small.
We all had to stand shoulder to shoulder while one of us danced in it. Also a really nice experience. I can not say it to much. Huyen is more than DOPE! If you are in Oslo/Norway go and check her out.
Afterwards Zhian had his test class with us and he did it so well!
For me it was the funniest test class of all of us.
He is such a funny guy and taught really good.
He reminds me a little bit of Anthony Lee. And Lin and Karsten also liked his way of teaching.
Than we had a twenty minutes break before Luise started with the first regular YEP2 Hip Drop class. We all were so tired from this long day, but we forced our last strength together to rock with her and of course with Simonne who had the class right after Luise.
A hard but good day is over, and I guess we all got to bed very early today :)
Can not wait for the next two days!

DAY 28 - October 7th 2014 (By Gabriel Goux)
DAY 28 - October 7th 2014 (By Gabriel Goux)
"Bonjour à tous !
This Tuesday 7th October was a fabolous day, this kind of day where everything goes well or simply because you see any things on the bright side or because you are under influence, no kidding (Lin asked us to stop with our line of cocaine during the lunch).
First, class with Huyen Huynh (If you feel confused about the pronunciation, it's normal and I'm here to help you, here is : « Nnn Nn ») We took our 2 lines of formation to do (dance) our assignment, but there was a problem, we didn't do our assignement correctly... Huyen not happy, punishment for 2Yep'ers, the wall sit quad exercise for 5 minutes, the 2Yep'ers not happy too. But 5 minutes for Huyen it's 9 minutes and 4 seconds, that's why everybody was crying blood.
After this, we had to make one choreography with one or two basic grooves and create 3 variations of these moves. We (Mike, Charlie, Oliver, Luise, Michael and me) took the Popcorn and the Steve Martin, the other gang (Cedric, Zhian, Malene, Nico, Henry, Simonne) took the Party Machine and the Running Man then we did a battle between the 2 gangs with our choreography, Cedric and me were trying to kill each other with knife at the end of the session, it was really fun.
Second, a normal great Jazz's class like every week. I'm sorry I have nothing to say about it.
(late short lunch)
(I hate the late short lunch)
(I prefer the early long lunch)
(We never had a early long lunch but why not)
Third, second Huyen's class. She taught us the basics of the new generation, because we are the new generation ladies and gentleman. Bankhead bounce, monistary, crip walk, harlem shake, atl stomp, dougie, cat daddy, new jerk, reject, drunkman, all these dances are very useful when you want to look cool in a nightclub and you don't know what to do.
(bike ride in the rain to the Triangeln station)
Then, one of the highlights of the Education, « Rosegarden » A Neo Asian restaurant where you can, for 79 swedish kroner, fill a box of what you want from the buffet ! I directly asked for 2 boxes. It's in those moments that you realize that happiness is everywhere, especially in Asian food. If only I could have a lovely and nice and funny and spontaneous and smart girl who could cook me some Asian dishes at the end of the day... ;)
After this intense and passionate meal, I went to take some classes in Copenhagen, at AL-DANS studio (they have their own bottles of water......I know it's really interesting) I really enjoyed the choreography of Marvin Spahi to « I love Myself » by Kendrick Lamar.
We came back by car of Lin, questioning has emerged by itself... So Charlie, Simonne, Luise and I were trying to know what we don't have to know yet. I like this game and I'm pretty good, but Lin is better...
(second bike ride in the rain to the Hip Drop house)
(I was lucky this day)
(I'm serious, I love the rain)
Here I am at home. Notification. Ian's new video. Ian Eastwood Freestyle. HD ready, headphones in ears, play. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I have to share this with you because I honestly miss this Ian, who film himself, with a simple camera, killing everythinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg. Thank you Ian for this video, you gave me energy for 3 weeks 6 days and 19 hours I would say.
I leave you with the God's whispers.
See you soon my dear readers.

DAY 27 - October 6th 2014 (By Charlie Manley)
Hey!
Hey!
So it was the first day of having Huyen Huynh! :-)
Such a full out day!!!
Going trough most of the old school foundations and middle school foundations.
So nice to refresh my mind of foundations and learning some new ones!
It was also really nice playing around and exploring what we can do with them and figuring out different transitions between each foundation while free-styling.
It was an eye opener to how I could move my body in a different way.
I felt I took a lot away from it, as some of the grooves we did, I had never done before and it was nice to really go into breaking down the movement and understanding the movement properly.
I had some knowledge of some of the foundations before but I am really happy I can now widen my hip hop vocabulary in the next couple of days and carry them and share the knowledge I get with some of my friends back home.
Looking forward to the next couple of days of pure knowledge and full out foundations! ;-)
AND we have Rob Rich coming on Friday!!! BUZZING!!

DAY 26 - October 3rd 2014 (By Antoine Cedric aka ACEKO )
DAY 26 - October 3rd 2014 (By Antoine Cedric aka ACEKO )
Hello my Friends around the World i hope you doing good. I’m really happy today because its Friday whoop whoop.
This week was a good experience for everyone of us. Like you know, we have to teach intermediate classes to show our teaching skills. It was kind of weird because we were the students, and at the same time we were the teachers. And to be an intermediate Students its so funny because you can act like a little bit inexperienced and challenge the teacher. Anyways everyone did a good job and we know now on what to work for the future.
But now lets start this day. I had to go early in the morning to the Migration to give my finger prints and take a Photo for my visa. I need a permission to stay in Sweden otherwise I have to Quit the Education. ( Can you imagine that?? I would Cry everyday)
But I’m a lucky guy and they accepted me. after that I drove like a freak to be on point for the "easy Jogging" HAHAHA I didn’t want to miss it. So I drove so fast ( I felt like in Motor GP HAHA)
After the run we had our favorite exercise crunches, pushups, back and stretch. It kills me every time but I can’t stop. ( I have to be ready for L.A Bro)
Friday was also the Teaching day of Michael Sjösten.
I must say that: He did a really good job. He also choose a good song ( Beyonce - Upgrade U) At the beginning we were a bit skeptic but he surprised everyone. He was on point with the counts, with the voice, with the energy during the class, the Vibe. We had a lot of fun during his class. And everyone killed the choreo. Even if we had to act like intermediate students ( GOOD JOB MR: SJÖSTEN)
Right after his class it was time for the Class Hour. We talked about the past month, what happened untill now, the Teachers who will come next, and how we feel. What I can tell you is, the next teacher will be Huyen from Norway and I’m really curious about the next week, and also excited for Friday because it´s the Time for Mr. Rob Rich. Can’t wait to train with Him.
So at the End of The day, we had HIP-HOP History. I think if you call yourself a Hip-Hop dancer you need the Knowledge of The History of This wonderful Culture.
Just a little bit information about Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop is a Culture with 5 Elements.
-Breakdance

....and if you want to know more about the Hip-hop Culture check it out, I will give you a list with names who marked the History of this Culture.

and finally the Rules of Hip-Hop:
Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun
I know it´s not a lot of information, but trust me it´s better to find it by yourself. This Culture is so freaking Interresting and I love it. I’m so Happy that this Culture exist and I am really Thankfull for that.
I hope you enjoyed reading this part. I Thank you all for Supporting everyone of us. I can feel your energy and it´s so positive. Thank you and enjoy your life.

DAY 25 - October 2nd 2014 (By Zhian Lu)
DAY 25 - October 2nd 2014 (By Zhian Lu)
Hey everyone, we are all pretty exited on this october 2nd!!
What seems as a normal day went completely crazy!!
The reason?? You'll know later haha ;)
So, today was kind of a normal day, getting up a 9am, day started at 10am.
The warm up started a 10am, as everyday.
After a couple exercises of crunches and push ups, we were ready to start Mike´s class.
His choreo was to Kanye West Don't Like.
I liked it though… Ballet class started at 12, it was fun doing all those 'relevé', 'plié' 'sussu'...
We had one hour of lunch break after the ballet class but since it's getting colder, most of the lunch time is spent inside… Which is pretty sad…
The second class today was taught by Oliver to Chris Brown - New Flame, it was a chill piece, perfect after the lunch!
Now it's getting interesting, after Oliver's class, Lin wanted to talk with us about Winter Drop 2015, more precisely about which teacher is coming.
So…
You better be ready because it's about to go DOWN!!!!!!!!!! (seriously)
See ya! ;)
hahahaha

DAY 24 - October 1st 2014 (By Simonne Kraigher)
DAY 24 - October 1st 2014 (By Simonne Kraigher)
I sit here exhausted trying to get all my thoughts under control because today was such a HYPE HUMPDAY! First off, let me just say, holy s**t where has the time gone? We have been here for one month, as of today. Holy moly, we have done so much already, and I am so stoked to see what else we will do in another month’s time.
Anyways, you are here to read about what we did on this glorious Wednesday. What didn’t we do is the question? Well, it started off by biking in the rain, to make it to our earlier than normal class, since we had a last minute class with Lee Daniel and Jian Pierre-Louis. They are here doing a project in Copenhagen, and our Momma Lin, was able to steal them for two hours so they could train us. DAAAAAAMMNN , first off, may I say that these two are not only teachers; they had some super inspirational things to say about taking class. They gave us pointers and direction that will help us majorly, as we all grow.
Lee taught first and he did his choreography to “She came to give it to you” – Usher ft. Nicki Minaj. It was a mix of commercial/hiphop and had a lot of feeling (Luise explained it like this to me right now - I needed help from my German roommate, cause English is my first language and I have a hard time with the English vocabulary.) This was a super fun dance that everyone was able to play with – and that’s what Lee wanted! We decided (Luise and I – as I live with her and shes helping me right now) to call Lee Daniel a “funky monkey with a groovy moovy man-tittude” I will let you figure out what that means but in short words … he’s AMAZING.
Right after Jian taught his class which was choreographed to, “Rap Around” – By an unknown artist (I asked everyone and they don’t know who the artist is). His choreography was more in the commercial/house style as Jian is a DJ as well. Damn, that man is TALENTED – as Luise would say he dances like a cat .. meeeoooww! (our definition of how a cat dances means he is smooth but sassy at the same time – he woke up flawless.)It was a super upbeat and fun morning, I really wish we would have had more time with these two as I feel like they could have pushed us really far. These two men are super talented and I can not wait to dance with them once again in Los Angeles!
Us with Lee Daniel and Jian Pierre-Louis
After lunch, we had a KILLER WARM UP WITH LIN. I might add, she a maniac. She killed our arms with an “80’s styled arm work out” then continued with a freaking cardio, jumping, arm pumping bouncing all over the place cardio routine. Everyone was sweating within 10 minutes and screaming to boot. “PUMPPPP IT”
If you have been following the blog, you know its teaching week for us. The time where we pretend we don’t know anyone and we teach a class – to each other. Cedric was up. He killed us with cardio … yet again – but with some booty pops. His choreography was dope and we all had a good time! After his evaluation, it was Nico’s turn. Nico taught us his African ways and made us wind our hips, shrug our shoulder and bring out our African side. It was a feel good, have fun and sweat kinda class.
This is one long ass blog, and if you made it all the way through, props to you – you love us and you love reading our blog! HOLLA!
Until next time errrrrooonnne!
Love
Simonne
