DAY 53 - November 18th 2014 (By Michael "Mike" Fiech)

DAY 53 - November 18th 2014 (By Michael "Mike" Fiech)

Hey Bloggers!! :)

MY turn! :)
So today we had again that blessing to have TONY TZAR here in our studio to teach us some amazing things.

We started the day off with our daily Warm Up-Routine shown by the always smiling dancemom, Lin! :)

Followed by that, the first class of incredible Mr. Tzar was about to start!
This time it wasn't a ''normal'' class. It was more about the mental things when it comes to dance and more about talking.
So we all sat in one circle and Tony asked us for our goals with this education, and where we want to end with all this knowledge.
Each of us had amazing Resolutions with this Program.
Very inspirational and motivational to hear each goal of my mates :)
Tony also told us about what big responsibility comes with teaching and so on (I don't want to tell you more, just apply for the next year's program and listen to him personally haha)  ;)

After that Inspilosion (Inspiration + Explosion) it was time to jump, kick, plié, tensing the core a lot and pirouhettes.
YES, it was Jazz-time :)
We had again pretty much the same Build-Up as the weeks before.
WarmUp and Technique.
It was very jumpy and kicky this time ;)

Afterwards Tony came back into our lives and taught us some VOGUE!
Yes, you heard right!
VOGUE!!!
So much fun!
At first he showed us how to ''walk''...
It sounds easy, but believe me... It's not haha :D
He showed us some ways to walk the catwalk as a Man but as a Woman aswell.
After we were done with walking he told us to do some Vogue-Poses...
Again... It's not easy guys haha!!
Vogue-Basics were the next big topic after those poses.
We learned a lot of basics but the most important one was ''the 8''
Knowing all those Basics now, we than went straight to Choreography and it was fast, sharp and sexy!!

Later on we had to battle eachother in a circle WITH that Choreography, looking eachother in the eye! It was an amazing experience to battle in Vogue haha :D
It was actually so much fun that we stopped our schooltime at 6pm (normally we end at 4.30pm)...

So yes, that was our day today :)
Hope you enjoyed reading it :)

'Till the next time, Blogger! :)

DAY 52 - November 17th 2014 (By Malene Rasmussen)

DAY 52 - November 17th 2014 (By Malene Rasmussen)

Hi blog

So this week is Tony Tzar week!!!!!! And today was the first day with him. What a crazy talent he is. I will tell more about him later on. Lets go through the whole day in order.

Today Lin had one of the “welcome back from the weekend” moments. She had a new warm up for us or I will more call it a cardio workout. She played some crazy techno beats and then we started.
It was 4 exercises and we had to do all of them twice. Everyone supported each other, yelling and screaming so all of us would keep pushing.
Actually it was nice and really good for me to wake up (had a hard time this morning. YES I was tired)

After this we did some of the old programs, core, arms, legs, more cardio, old school and so on. At this time I think almost everyone was a little bit tired and I’m sure everyone was quit sweaty.
Then Lin said the magic words “lets do it again.”
First I thought she was joking, but no. We did the new cardio one more time J What a great way to start out the Monday.
But as Lin said “now you are prepared for Tony later.”

After the warm up we went through Charlie’s piece for the X-mas show.
It’s only the guys who are in this part so they had to fix formations and effects.
Meanwhile us girls was going through all the other parts, which was a good idea.
Lin asked us to do the whole show because she hasn’t seen all the parts. Everyone just knew that this would be a mess because of all the transitions that isn’t done and there are still missing formations.
And yes it was a MESS!!! But I’m sure that everybody will make sure that they know all the parts very well now so we can move on to actually making the show look great.

LUNCH TIME.
Today almost everyone was together in the lunch break, which I really liked.
We are becoming more and more as a real family and I’m sure that will make us all grow even more.

Then it was time for 2 classes with Tony. We started with warm up and some groves.
What I really liked about this was that Tony walked around not only telling if you do something “wrong” but he actually made your body do the right thing by pushing you to where it have to be.
Then choreo time.
This piece was about the attitude.
He showed us 3 different ways of dancing the same choreography in the same way but with different attitudes.
Everyone was gaping when he showed us the musicality.
SO CRAZY!!!! I saw that everybody really worked hard and you could tell that we all were hungry to learn from this talented guy.

A crazy thing that shocked us all was the way he analysed all of us.
He could tell who people was inspired by, how they learn, how they feel about themselves and so on without even knowing our names yet.
What he said about someone was spot on.
After class we sat down talking and asking some questions where you really get to know him.

So all in all it has been a cool day with a lot of fun and hard work. I can only look forward to the rest of this week when Monday start like this. Wuhuuu 2YEP!

Thanks for reading

I’m out.

DAY 51 - November 14th 2014 (By Luise Knofe)

DAY 51 - November 14th 2014 (By Luise Knofe)

Dear Blog-Readers,

finally it’s my turn again to write for you about one of our education-days :)

Well, this Friday was a different Friday, a special one.
A Friday without any classes, without sweating and full of good looking 2Yep’ers ready for a Photoshoot at the across agency here in Malmö.

Since the Day started at 12 in the noon all of us could sleep a bit longer this morning…weeell..not really, we all know that girls need a bit longer to prepare themselves for a shooting… in fact that means that Miss Canada (Simonne) and myself got up at 9 to freak out over what to wear, which Make Up to do, which Look we are going for and OFF COURSE: Hair!!!
Seriously, this morning we struggled hard to look pretty, but somehow we made it through hundreds of Outfits, Hair-crisis and Shoe problems (not to mention, that it was a headshot, where you don’t even see which shoes we are wearing haha)

After we made it last minute (which is perfectly right in time :D ) to leave the houses, we picked up our Boys next door.
Most of them looked pretty handsome ;)
Why most of them?!
Well some of the Guys (no names are announced here) went out for a long and nice party night in Copenhagen and it was not so hard to read that they didn’t spend as much time on looking fabulous as we did…
BUT thanks to the technology: Photoshop is a pretty good invention for these kinds of shoots ;)

So ok, finally after I freaked out on my bike because it started raining (girl problems, while trying to look nice for a Photoshoot) we MADE IT to the Across Agency.

After entering the agency we got free coffee (that made me especially very happy since I am a total coffee-addict!) and started right away with the shoots.
First all of us had a short headshot session with our Photographer Pierre Ekman.
Everyone was watching the others and we had a lot of Fun behind and in front of the camera.
After the first shoot we had the Body-shots in our new black Hip Drop Hoodies.
I think everyone was very confident in front of the Camera and showed some nice Poses and Looks "2YEP’ers can be Models as well"  … Ok sometimes we really had to giggle about ourselves or the others making fun.
It just never gets boring with this group here :)

Suddenly Karsten, who supported us at the Shooting, decided he wanted to see some crazy Jumps, Freezes, high legs and more extravagant Poses from us.
So we all did a funny third round jumping around, throwing legs and arms everywhere :)

The time went by pretty fast and the Shooting was suddenly over.
Some of us went to have a nice Lunch in the City and to enjoy the rest of the Day.

Stay tuned for the next Blog, I can already tell you it will be a great day…...but I won’t ;)
For that you have to read it by yourself

Lots of Love

Luise

DAY 50 - November 13th 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

DAY 50 - November 13th 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)

Hey world,

This Thursday was amazing!

I really love surprises, and trust me guys Lin surprised us all.
We were so excited about that.
But let me start from the top of this awesome day.

It looked like a "normal" day at the program.

We started with an easy warm up.
Afterwards Nico taught us his part of the X-Mas show, which was a lot of focused work, but I like that. Than we had very early lunch break at 11:45 am.

After the lunch Lin came in and started with a warm up song and everybody was dancing while Lin filmed us.

Some of us where a little bit confused about that, but everyone kept going on
until mr. CJ SALVADOR came in the class like a student who missed his bus or train.
From that point on everybody was freaking out (you can see our reaction on Lin´s Instagram)
When I talk about myself I really felt tones of happiness in that moment.

So after a few minutes CJ started to teach us his first routine.

We were so hyped.
His first routine was to a very nice gangster song and everyone was killing it.
And of course it was so much fun.

The second pice was to a song called "Too early - The Dream feat. Gary Clark Jr."

(Sorry guys, we forgot to ask him about the first song)
The second routine was more like a "typical" CJ choreography.
This routine was a collabo between him  and a guy from Canada/Montreal called Marc LeSieur Millette (check him out)
It was nice, slow and sexy as hell.
After everyone had been dancing their asses off, we also had a Q&A with him.
Which was really interesting, because he told us that he takes Yoga classes twice a week.
He uses the technique of the Yoga breathing in his dancing.
And of course we talked about his career and many more things that I won't tell :)
You have to apply for the program, to increase your knowledge about these informations, or move to L.A. and ask him  :-)))

At the end of the day everybody was so happy for being in this amazing program, where you never know what comes next ;-)

See you on November 30th then I will tell you about the X-Mas Show.

Peace

Heinrich aka "Henry"

DAY 49 - November 12th 2014 (By Anaïs Kauer)

DAY 49 - November 12th 2014 (By Anaïs Kauer)

Hello for the second time!
Yeeaaahhhhhh!
Today was a very normal day and I swear I won’t write a lot even if our normal days are still very crazy hahaha.
We started the morning with a 40 minutes jogging in the park accompanied by terrible grey weather. You know, those days when you have the impression that the sun never raised up and you just want to do like him (I mean the sun) and stay in bed…
But actually now that the day is over and I think about it, I am very happy that I woke up this morning because it was a great day haha!

After the jogging we learned Simonne’s part of the X-MAS show which included Luise, Simonne and five boys but everybody always learns everything and I liked it even if now I have a bruise on my knee. When they put the girl and boys part together it really made sense and I loved the formation Simonne did!

Then Charlie taught his part which was very groovy and heavy.
It was a good exercise for me because I have to train big moves and put more tension in it.
After the lunch we had the Jazz Class and everyone was so tired.
We practiced a lot of exercises and everyone was focused.
We ended up the day with a nice and long stretch given by Lin.

As every Wednesday two of us are teaching the evening classes at the Hip Drop.
Today it was Henry and I J I started with the intermediate class and then Henry taught a Locking piece for the advanced one.
I missed teaching so much, and I am really thankful I had the opportunity to do it.
The mood of the class was soooooooooooooooooooooooo high!!!!
We had so much fun and now I definitely want to learn more Locking.
Luckily we have a Locking expert in the group (Henry) and we already plan to do a Locking session, I am so excited about it!!!!
Okay! You see I am already done, I didn’t lie to you ehe ;)
Thanks for following us and have a beautiful day!

DAY 48 - November 11th 2014 (By Gabriel Goux)

DAY 48 - November 11th 2014 (By Gabriel Goux)

Bonjour à tous!

It´s the Tuesday 11th of November and I am in the train, sweaty, tired, coming back home and writing my blog.
So as you can tell,  I am not in the best conditions to be inspired and to give you my best jokes.
But I will try because writing is my passion (and because I have to do it tonight, but it doesn't mean that I will not take pleasure to write my article, writing is my passion).
So now you know my passion is writing and I just remember that I have to tell you how my day was.

Good.
Thank you !
See you soon my dear readers !

It was the joke of the article, I really tried my best.

First, Ruben or Chi or Ruben Chi or Chi Ruben or Nebur Ihc was our special guest teacher of the day. He started with a House Dance class, and I definitely missed the house dance!
We learned some basics, then we did two circles where we all shared our grooves, and then we learned a small routine.
For the Locking class, it was exactly the same way he approached it, and the routine he did Locking to was "Brand New" by Pharrel Williams. It was sooooooooo good, and I really had fun, thank you Chi Ruben or Ruben Chi or Chi or Chi Roro Ben Chi for your happiness and your really communicative energy!

After our nice lunch (it was spaghetti bolognese for me) we had the class of Anaïs.
It was special and really funny. Special for the choreography and funny for the song.
At the beginning I was like "She is serious !?!" but at the end of the class I was completely immersed in this class and I was thinking about the fact that we are all really different and that it's pretty useful to be inspired.
One day I will define the style of everybody with a name of a fruit and one animal name!
By the way Anaïs did really well her teacher job.

There is the end of our day,

Thank you !

See you soon my dear readers !

MOUAHAHAHHAHA IT'S NOT THE END.

We went to Copenhagen to take Lin´s class and Marvin´s class.
One young and talented girl from Denmark won one day with us at the education.
She won this day after a little competition between all the young talented dancers of AL-DANS....and yes the others girls were really talented too...
(the 2YEP'ers were the judge....It was my first experience as judge.
(I was so happy.....Thank you Lin)))) (It was 4 parentheses in a row)
Then Marvin taught the choreography of the show that he did for Burhan G.
I really enjoyed this class, all these big moves, these lines, this feeling of performance AAAAAAAAHHHHHH.
I know why I dance after a class like that, thank you Marvin!

Now it's time to sleep,

Thank you !

See you soon my dear readers !

(YES this time it's the end)

Gabriel

2YEP Proudly Presents Anaïs Kauer (Switzerland)

2YEP Proudly Presents Anaïs Kauer (Switzerland)

Hello world (or blog readers haha)!

Here comes finally my introduction text!
My name is Anaïs.
I come from the French part of Switzerland, and I am 23 years old, 24 in one month (wow I am almost a quarter of century that’s crazy haha)
The reason why you have not heard about me until now is because before moving to Malmö for the One Year Hip Drop Education Program I got the opportunity to choreograph and perform for a dance/theater piece.
I feel so fortunate that Lin and Karsten accepted me even though I missed the first eight weeks.

This experience was very enriching for me, and I am so glad I have been able to do it, and then come to Sweden for the education.
I can already tell you that this year will count for ten haha.
I will learn sooooooooooooooooooo much it’s crazy!

Well, let’s start from the beginning;
I started dancing when I was five years old because as every little girl I wanted to wear a pink tutu.
My mom finally accepted to register me at a dance class.
I said “finally” with purpose because she never wanted her daughter being the typical girl dancing with a tutu and her son playing soccer as every normal boy, but that is what happened haha!
But it didn’t last long, my brother quitted soccer, and I started Hip Hop when I was ten years old.
Till my 18th birthday I used to dance in the same dance school which focused on competitions and I didn’t really learn anything about Hip Hop.
All I was able to do was jumping around full out on the stage but I couldn’t even do a simple groove haha.

After eight years of fidelity, we (my dance crew) decided to quite our leader to create our own thing. As many of us used to teach in our previous dance school, in 2008 we opened our own dance school with the students who wanted to keep learning from us.
Since this rupture with our ex-coach we could open ourselves to the Hip Hop community and take advantage of the workshops that were given in our country.
That is what opened my eyes and make me dance with purpose and envy.
From this moment I spent all my money for workshops, dance events as Just Debout, Camps and dance classes.
In 2011, I took a year off after the high school to focus on dancing so I went three months to San Diego.
It wasn’t my first time because with my dance crew we have been Swiss champions many times, and we got the chance to participate at the Hip Hop International world competition in Las Vegas.
During one of our trips we stayed one week at the Culture Shock dance school and that is the reason why I went to San Diego, and not to LA.
During this journey I found out how passionate I was, and how and committing I was into the dancing, but I was too scared to drop off everything and give it a chance, so I started college three months later.

I did one year and stopped because the dance was taking up all place in my perspective of the future. So in 2013 I authorized myself to follow my dream and to work as hard as I can to reach it.

I was lucky to have the support of my family and my boyfriend who took the same way as I did.
Last winter, we went together to LA for three months to train intensively.
We meet amazing people and we did the Establish Your Empire Program led by Gigi Torres.
That was the best experience I did in LA, and that is how I get closer to many incredible persons from all around the world.
After this experience I realized how important and enriching it was to work surrounded of experienced teachers and amazing dancers from different background.
That is what gave me the wish to be part of the 2YEP program.
So as soon as I came back home I applied for it without even knowing how I would be able to pay this entire year haha but I really wanted it so bad.
So I sent my application in May and I knew it would be tricky because I had to miss the first month. During these two long weeks I checked my emails every day ten times haha.
I am so thankful to Lin and Karsten that they accepted me.
From then on I worked very hard to save as much money as I could, and the time fused until I got here on the 19th of October.
I can’t believe I have only been here for one month because I have already learned soooooooooo much, that’s crazy!
And at the same time I feel like I just arrived, I know it is weird but I am sure that many of you already had the same feeling in your life.
I know that the time won’t slow down, so I will do my best to cherish every single moment I have here!

I think you already know too much about me so I will stop here haha!
Thank you for reading this all the way till the end and I look forward to reveal more of my dance, follow me on youtube I will try to upload every choreo I am doing during this year so you can follow the improvement or not (but I hope there will have some haha)

Peace. J
