DAY 85 - January 17th 2014 (By Elin Karabuda)
So we meet again.
This week we entered the world of funk.
Our guide was none other than Professor Lock (Brice works too I’ve been told).
He has trained us in locking, locking-influenced hiphop and freestyle. Never ever have I tried locking before, so I wasn’t sure how I would like it. But now I’m one week older/wiser and can happily say that I’ve come to realise that I find it fun :D.
Today we were to show our own locking routine, with freestyle at the end. Everyone surprised the pepparkaka (translation by Lin: Gingerbread Cookie he he) out of me. In a good way of course. They all brought something different to the table, which made it superduper enjoyable to watch. Some incorporated their own style into it while others just looked like pure lockers! Afterwards we all gave each other feedback, which was really helpful for all of us.
After lunch we learned two Locking inspired HipHop routines. Oh! I can actually give u a link to one of them. Here! :D
Before it was time so say farewell to our beloved professor he evaluated all of us! Both as individuals and as a group. I feel like it gave us a lot. It was the perfect way to finish the dance week.
Bye bye!
