DAY 124 - March 20th 2104 (By Kallum Khaos)
Woah these blog days come around so fast! ‘Sup ya’ll?
My day started with the walk to school listening to Lupe Fiasco, going over the counts and choreo that I was going to teach in my mock advanced class after our morning work out.
My day started with the walk to school listening to Lupe Fiasco, going over the counts and choreo that I was going to teach in my mock advanced class after our morning work out.
Teaching is such an art; we’ve already learnt so much from the beginners and intermediate versions of the same exercises that my head was full of things to think about. My class went well, everyone’s feedback was really positive; like, CRAZY positive so that was one hell of a boost for me.
After class Lin approached me to ask if I would like to teach her advanced class that evening…WHAT?! It’s like so freaking insane to me that I admit a few tears were shed during the stretch at the end of the day.
After lunch it was Elina’s turn to teach and her class blew me away. For such a small, sweet girl to have a huge command over a class like that was awesome. Her choreography was so good too. If you’ve not seen the videos of our class choreo’s then head over to Lin Samuelsen’s Instagram and check them out. After a good stretch we had a production meeting. It’s getting pretty intense and we’re delving deep into logistics and budgets and all the practical, business aspects of the production.
Next came my opportunity to teach the Hip Drop Advanced evening class. It was one hell of an experience, I will die happy if that’s the highest point I reach in dance, it was that good. After class all the students were so nice and positive and ahhh it was just surreal. I can’t wait to edit together the footage for the world to see. It started a normal Thursday morning; it ended with me teaching at the Hip Drop and having Lin Samuelsen dance my choreography! Life is a funny ‘ol thing huh?
Later guys!
