DAY 17 - September 22nd 2014 (By Heinrich "Henry" Herrmann)
Today was our first day with Mr. David Moore from Los Angeles USA.
We were all so excited that Lin and Karsten brought him to us.
But let me start from the beginning of the day.
We started as always at 10:00 am with an intensive warm up, work out and stretch.
After that David joined at The Hip Drop.
He looked a bit jet lagged but from the moment he turned up the music he was focused on us.
He taught us a groove routine to "Down by Chris Brown feat. Kanye West".
It was so much fun to dance with him.
By the way....that is exactly what he is saying: "I really want is that my students have fun in my class". And Yeah we all totally agreed with him.
After the first 90 minutes of teaching it was time for our break.
Unfortunately the weather outside was not as beautiful as the last 3 weeks.
So the most of us had their lunch inside.
Right after the break, we had a warm up for our muscles again, with Lin.
Then David taught us a really nice raw gangster routine.
AAARRR! I loved it!
The Song was to "Big Sean's Mona Lisa".
We also had so much in fun in this class.
David is such a good teacher/coach/choreographer.
I am looking so much forward for the next days with him :-)
After Class, Lin did a relaxed stretch program and than we had our Q&A with David.
It was very interesting what he told us about being a professional dancer and in his case more a professional choreographer.
He also told us very interesting stories about his work with "The Jacksons"
Marty Kudelka choreographed some of the "The Jacksons Show" assisted by David Moore.
And after a couple of days days of working with them, Marty had to leave for another job and he gave David the opportunity to Choreograph a couple of songs in the show, and also he had to teach The Jacksons.
He told us that he was so freaking nervous when he showed them his moves. But they all liked his stuff :-)
The best story is about the Billy Jean Jacket that MJ was wearing in the music video from Billie Jean, and in the legendary Live performance.
The Jacksons told David, that MJ was actually wearing his mothers Jacket in the performance and in the video. Isn't it funny?
MJ asked his mom right before the shoot if he could wear it in the video.
And this is basically how ho he started the new trend back in the 80's.
Believe it or not. I like these stories about music stars who shows us that their human.....Ok MJ is not from this planet, I know ;))
Thank you for reading the Hip Drop Blog. Stay tuned for more informations about what we are doing here every day.
