DAY 16 - September 20th 2014 (By Nico O´Holi)

DAY 16 - September 20th 2014 (By Nico O´Holi)

Hello to all you beautiful readers!

Wahhhhhh! I don’t know where to start with what happened tonight, it was truly something extraordinary - but I’ll start from the beginning!

All of us 2Yeper’s met at the studio at 5.30 where we had 2 quick run through’s with Mama Lin watching getting us ready for the show.
Everything is looking as clean as can be considering we had less than 2 weeks to put this show together which we choreographed ourselves, however we were all feeling confident and ready to perform.

We met some of the The Hip Drop evening school students at Central station who came to support us as (they’re the best) we all made our way to Skånes Dansteater.

When we finally arrived, we got shown our studio to warm up in and met the hosts of the showcase. He informed us that at the end of the show we were going to play an improvisational game where the audience will pick one word and one member from each group performing will be invited on stage to act out the word the audience chooses through movement & of course we picked our chameleon Cedric!

9pm and its time to go on stage, we’re more than ready!
The buzz on stage with my family was stupidly crazy, our energy was unstoppable & it was in this exact moment with my team that I knew God had placed not only myself but all of us including Lin & K together to create nothing less than the best magic for the next year.
The audience were going offfff during the performance.
Did we perform to the best of our ability?
No, but the lesson we take away with us today is that there is always room for improvement and growth, always!

After our performance I was chosen by the group to take the microphone to answer a few questions the host wanted to ask.
This is where I got the opportunity to announce our appreciation for Lin & K and thank them for changing our lives.
I also got the chance to tell the audience all the different countries we were representing and how much of honour it is to be here!

After the show they played the improvisational game where Cedric had to portray an African Squirrel through free freestyling (don’t ask lol) alongside another member of one of the other the dance schools, both of them weirdly smashed it!
African Squirrel might be the new thing & if it goes globel you know where you saw it first ;)

After the improvisation there was a massive freestyle jam where the hosts invited everyone who wanted to join from the audience on stage to shake a leg!
Of course all of the performing groups were on stage along with some audience members and the atmosphere was phenomenal!
We all killed our freestyles, especially Michael Sjösten who came out of nowhere like pow pow pow & killed his feminine styled side - it was like watching your little brother kill it!

I also have to take my hat off to myself, Mike, Heinrich, Gab & Cedric who were the last men standing on stage after one hour and a half still dancing!

I have the best feeling about the next 10 months and I believe that this will be one of the best years of our lives!!

If your in Malmö this weekend, be sure to come and watch us perform this set again this Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th in Triangle!

Nico
