DAY 21 - September 26th 2014 (By Michael Sjösten)

DAY 21 - September 26th 2014 (By Michael Sjösten)

Today it was time to film our introduction video with David Moore!

They day started out with a light warm up with Lin, and then we had a short rehearsal for the shows this weekend.
Since we are missing Oliver due to sickness and Malene because she is in Germany for the World Championship with her students, we have to change some formations and small stuff. But it went great and we are super ready for the shows now, ha ha!

After that we took our bikes and went to the location where we were supposed to shoot the video. It was really exciting because we only knew kinda what concept David wanted to do but we didn't know anything about locations and details and stuff. When we got to the place it was absolutely amazing and great for the video. The lighting was perfect and the room we had to shoot it in was really big and open.

It was really crazy to see David in action. He is so fast to come up with ideas and really is a genius when it comes to playing with the camera and filming dance. He really knows how to make everything look super dope. We started rehearsing the dance and went over the formations and then after a while we started shooting it. It actually didn't take that long to film the first choreography but it was SUPER fun. We got too see the takes on his camera and I'm so excited for the end result!!!

We then moved on to the intros and presentations of everyone and here David really showed us how good he is. He is so creative and just solved everything on place and made it all up right there. We were all supposed to be super heroes and we had heroes like Batman, Spiderman, Thor and Wolverine... I was Wolverine! We worked on the different intros for a while and then we moved on to the other choreography we had. That one was so full out and fun to do, everyone just went off and killed it!

This day has been so amazing. Not just because it was fun to do the video and dance but also becuase we all got to see how David works and how he makes his dance videos. And that's what I'm passionate about. Choreographing and making videos and concepts come to life with new ideas. It was our last day with David and he has inspired me so much. I will take so much that he shared on the Q&A session we had on the first day with me and really use it. I could be talking about how amazingly dope he is but yea... I think you kinda get the what I'm trying to say.

I would really like to thank David for being with us for a whole week, just drilling us and motivating us and also for making this sick concept introduction video. It's been an amazing week and I can't wait until we go to LA and take his classes there! It's gonna be sooo much fun!!!

Oh... but the day didn't end there. We also had the workshop class in the evening. He taught probably my favorite piece of the whole week, I LOVED IT! It was like a thug full out piece... aahhhh sooo good! And as always, the vibe and passion at the hip drop from all the students was great. It was a great workshop and a really good ending to the week with David. We also got to see Anton from the 1YEP, and it was really fun to meet him and talk to him now that he is done with the education. It's crazy how much he has improved from all the videos and workshops I've seen him and the other 1YEP´ers in. Now I know what I'm aiming for, and beyond ofc. The sky is the limit!

Also just want to add that I just released a new video, and I would appreciate it very much if you would check it out!
It's just a fun project that I did with a few friends from my hometown Stockholm :)

That's all from me Michael (AKA Wolverine)
See yaa!

Michael
