DAY 36 - October 17th 2014 (By Simonne Kraigher)

DAY 36 - October 17th 2014 (By Simonne Kraigher)

Hello Blog Readers!
I hope your Friday was just as awesome as ours – let me tell you why ours was so great ....

First off, I want to say, I feel like I am the one who always writes about Lin being a “maniac.”
This meaning – that she makes us do a crazy cardio warm-‐up to “she’s a maniac.”
Followed by “cold hearted snake”, which is an 80-‐90’s inspired arm work out ...
THEN followed by a running, burpee, triceps and normal push up workout to “tsunami” ... in which case, I feel like we all got hit by after, since we were all dripping wet in sweat. oh but that’s not all, we also did a full song of the plank, which I am pretty sure most of us were shaking and trying to stay up the whole time, then came our two normal warm-‐up songs ... yeah, so after our warm up .. we were FOR SURE WARM ... AND DRIPPING WITH SWEAT, AND MUSCLES WERE PUMPING BLOOD. Oh man.

Then, we were blessed to have our second day with the wonderfully talented Ms. Andye Jamieson.
It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to say about Andye, but I think I have finally figured it out.
This woman is amazing.
Even in the short two days (4 classes) I have learnt so much from her – and we still have 5 days to go.

The way Andye teaches inspires me to be like her – in the way that she communicates her movements. Andye breaks down dances like no one else I know.
From counting it, singing it, pointing out the beats in which you hit and also putting it out of rhythm to teach you and then into rhythm so you understand.

But anyways, lets talk about what happened with her today.
First off we did the piece that she taught us yesterday to “Bed Medicine” by Eric Bellinger and Usher. She let us go through the dance a couple of times, before cleaning us up and re-‐ explaining some of the movements.
After she took her time with that, she finished the dance off.
This has got to be my favorite dance we have learnt so far.
The feels of this dance are insane.
Oh the feels.
Of course we danced it in groups and we were all in awe of what just happened.
It was a brilliant class.
After a short break, we were back on the floor, but this time sitting down and learning about “Andye’s Angles”.
Andye has broken down how to learn in a class and what to think about, and she was nice enough to tell us her secrets, but I am not going to share them with you. :) this is for the 2YEPS only!!
Then .. onto “Joy” by Missy Elliot.
Andye did the same thing as she did with the last class.
Let us dance it, re-‐broke it down and then taught some more.
This was such a different dance then the one she previously taught us, but I was so happy as this piece for sure pushed me.
OH AND ANDYE .. YOUR MUSICAILITY IS INSAAAAANNNNNEE.
Damn.
Finally LUNCH.

Then came the Q&A with Andye.
We learnt a lot from this Q&A ... just like we do with every one with the instructors.
It’s nice to see how they got into the

industry and what they have to say to us.
Andye is a very honest person, and in this Q&A there was a lot of stuff I needed to hear.

Then Andye had to go early, since she is awesome and heading up to Stockholm to choreograph a piece for the RichBoyz project.

I am still trying to figure out what totally happened – as Andye makes me think so much out of the box. I really feel like I am going to learn a lot from this lady.
I look forward to the next couple of days with her (even though I wish it was more!)

Until next time blog readers

<3 Simonne
