Day 38 - October 23rd 2013 (By Marilena Maouni)
Not one, not two, but THREE people were late today.
Guess what…dance mom Lin…NOT HAPPY!
To make sure this never happens again she made us go to the wall and stand like this (picture no1) while listening to Kesha and old Bieber songs for several minutes.
It hurt like hell…ears and thighs!
---> NOBODY WAS LATE EVER AGAIN.
Andye J…..aaaaa <3
Before I say anything else I have to let you know that she's the best teacher in the world and I am really grateful to have her in the education.
She came prepared, she knew our names BEFORE she even walks into the studio, she did her research about what we've learned so far with the other teachers and she knew exactly what she was going to teach.
Today's lesson was expressions.
WE LEARNED THE HARD WAY.
First class we learned a choreo to the song 'Climax' and for the second class we….put our hearts in it.
Andye 'forced' us to pay attention to the lyrics and to connect.
Even though I've heard that song a thousand times suddenly it made sense.
Thoughts and feelings well-hidden for a long time came into the surface, and I just couldn't hold my tears anymore. I surrendered to my heart-ache, and I wasn't doing a bunch of steps anymore, I was telling my story through movement.
Watching everybody dancing I realized what a huge difference it makes when you truly surrender and put your heart in it.
EVERYBODY WAS CRYING.
Sharing our pain, showing our emotions brought us even closer as a group.
What an amazing lesson! What an amazing teacher you are Andye!
P.S. I just want to say how proud I am about my classmates and especially about Denice and Elina for killing Andye's choreo and about Cecilia for her Bollywood class later this evening!!
oh boy I need a drink.....
Marilena
