Dance background: 

I've always been interested in dance but too self conscious and shy to take classes. Whilst in my last year of University I joined the 'Breakdance Society' and got involved in the breaking scene but rarely danced due to my commitments to my studies. I felt like it gave me a lot of confidence, friends and a purpose so when I graduated I got a job and started taking community classes from 2011. Since then I was hooked and have spent my time working to save money and attend dance camps whenever possible – all the while dreaming of a time I'd get to study dance intensively.

Your dreams and goals with dance: 

I dream of a time I can be self sufficient and financially stable through dance. I've always hoped my future would involve teaching, performing with a crew or creating a dance charity and using my passion to help others. Since attending the course and being with such a great group of people, touring is also something I'd like to try, the feeling of being part of a community gives me a confidence and sense of worth I couldn't describe.

How did you hear about the program and what made you decide to apply: 

I heard about the program through Facebook by chance. Lin had posted a picture in an event advertising the program a long time before it was confirmed. Since then I checked daily, waiting for more information and a chance to apply so there was never really a 'decision' to apply, I've wanted to study dance for a long time and have researched a lot – this course is definitely the best I found.
