Field Trip (DETOUR in Copenhagen) September 14th 2013 (By Anton Swerkström)
Our first fieldtrip, YAY! Makes me feel like a kid in elementary school again.
Weather was awesome so we decided to go to Copenhagen earlier.
Walked around and just enjoyed eachothers company, and we had ice-cream, DOUBLE YAY! It was a very chill day. Or actually not totally chill... Like a lot of other dancers we were very time optimistic and nearly came late to the show (maybe I shouldnt tell you this :o), but hey, we made it in time so no harm done right ;)
Cool show with a lot of different styles but I guess it all kinda fell under ”experimental hiphop”.
There was everything from solos to big “feel good” breaking crews.
All the 5 performances stood out in their own way.
The one that affected me the most was the fourth piece.
With very different staging, music and costumes this was a performance I will not soon forget. It was a little bit creepy and wired but with very strong dancers and they brought something I have never seen before, which is always interesting to watch. Even if it includes half naked people hanging from ropes in the ceiling.
After the show I was kinda in a hurry to get home and was planning on leaving right after it ended.
But my damn classmates are too much fun to hang out with so I came home a lot later then I was supposed to.
Totally worth it though.
Im so happy and thankful to be a part of this program.
Not only is the curriculum mind-blowingly amazing.
But each day spent with these people is soooo much fun!
Can’t believe I have an entire year of this in front of me :D
